EB-5 Program

EB-5 Visa For Foreign Students

Is an EB-5 visa for foreign students the best option?

Why should foreign students select the EB-5 Program visa over other visa categories and what are the major benefits?

• Other visa categories such as the F-1 student visa or the H-1B visa have many downsides compared to the EB-5 Program visa. Other visa categories can be slow to process visas, they may have work limitations or they may require sponsorship from a host company.

• Even if you currently maintain another visa status, you can still apply for EB-5.

• Depending on the international student’s country of origin, visas may be obtained in a matter of months when one becomes available.

• The minimum investment amount is currently only $500,000, however, that may increase sometime in 2018.
Visa holders may qualify for reduced tuition and costs for U.S. public universities.

• EB-5 visa holders do not require sponsorship from host companies or places of employment. Not having a sponsorship gives EB-5 international student a huge advantage over other international students.

• If a student is unmarried and under the age of 21, they may qualify for a visa under a parent’s EB-5 application. If they are married or above the age of 21, they must apply themselves. However, a parent can gift the funds required for the investment. Additionally, spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 can all qualify for visas and be admitted to the U.S. under the foreign student’s EB-5 application.

• Unlike other visa categories, spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21, can all live, work and attend school anywhere in the U.S. all under one EB-5 investor’s visa.

• Visa holders are not restricted by their investment, a regional center can handle the day-to-day management, so that EB-5 investors can live, work, and attend school anywhere in the U.S.

• An EB-5 investor may see returns on their investment in 3-5 years.

• EB-5 visa holders will receive most of the benefits that a U.S. citizen may enjoy.

• The EB-5 Program is a pathway to U.S. citizenship.
