EB-5 Benefits

EB-5 Visas for $900K Investment Is Still Crazy Good Deal, Here’s Why…

The EB-5 visa is highly sought after for a number of reasons including:

It’s a family-sized package of green cards.

The rate for EB-5 visas may have increased to $900,000, but it includes green cards for the principal investor, their spouse and all their unmarried children under the age of twenty one years. Whether an investor has one child or four or more they could all potentially qualify for a green card under the principal applicant’s petition.

Return on investment, potential for gains.

An EB-5 investor must invest their capital into an at-risk new commercial enterprise. Meaning that while yes, there is potential for losses, there’s also potential for significant gains. As more regional centers now have to compete for a smaller pool of EB-5 investors, they in turn may offer higher and more competitive rates of return on their investment offerings.

The EB-5 visa does not have the limitations or restrictions other visa categories possess.

Unlike other visa programs such as the H-1B visa, there are no employment requirements, employer sponsor requirements, industry requirements, or education requirements. There are also no skill, management experience or language requirements.

A lot of countries have no visa backlog and can receive a visa once approved when one becomes available.

Processing times for the I-526 Immigrant Petition for Alien Entrepreneur are currently 31.5 to 52 months, but may drop significantly if the number of interested investors filing applications drops now the minimum investment amount has increased and other changes have gone into effect due to the EB-5 Modernization Regulation.

Compared to other countries investor visa programs, the $900k rate is still very competitive.

Compared to other countries’ investor visa programs, the United States EB-5 Program is still a low rate. Quebec’s program rate is about $900,000 USD, Australia’s program rate is about $3.4 million USD, and the United Kingdom’s program rate is about $2.5 million.

Beyond these commonly marketed reasons for immigrating to the United States, there’s also a lot of less talked about reasons for wanting to live in the US. Some of these reasons include the following.

Emphasis on physical comfort.

Everywhere you go you will find places heated or cooled to a comfortable temperature, even while traveling. Personal comfort is a huge priority in the US. The majority of people own their own cars which provide them the freedom and comfort to go anywhere.

Privacy and independence.

There’s an expectation of privacy in the US. Others don’t intrude on your life unless they’re close to you. If you need the assistance of others, you can seek it out, but otherwise there’s a level of social independence that people have living in the US.

Freedom to enjoy your interests.

Whatever your hobbies are, you can likely find a group of similar-minded individuals in the US. There’s less expectation that you have to have certain extra curricular activities or hobbies (or not allowed to have certain ones) in the US than in other countries. If you want to learn a particular musical instrument, scuba diving, or computer programming, you can.

Wider access to products and services.

One of the top reasons tourists from all over the world vacation in the United States is to go shopping. It’s not just luxury brand products, either. High quality everyday products that may be taxed heavily in other countries are affordable and easily purchased in the US.

Trusted brand names.

In the US top brand names are often synonymous with high quality and for good reason. Rigorous testing and quality certification is often required of products from big companies in the US while it’s not in other countries.

Ease of national and international travel.

International treaties between the U.S. and other countries mean that US citizens and green card holders can often travel between nations easily and without visas.

A huge amount of things to do and see.

Whatever your interest is, the US likely has many experiences and opportunities that cater to you. Visit national parks, historic monuments, world-famous museums, major cities, theater performances, or luxury shopping districts. The variety of places in the US even means you could vacation in the mountains and go skiing in the morning and then drive a few hours and go swimming at the beach all in the same day.

Worldclass universities.

Looking to study in the US? The EB-5 visa would allow you to study at any institution you’re accepted into, while not limiting you when it comes to what you can study, where you can work, or how long you can stay in the US post-studying. US residency may also bring down tuition costs at certain universities.

Booming real estate market.

Purchasing a real estate property in the US is a popular way to park money in the US because of the generally stable market. Many foreign nationals purchase a vacation home, a residence for their children while they’re studying in the US, or an investment property.

These are just a few reasons the US is a top destination for foreign nationals. We haven’t even go into other reasons such as safety, political climate, or family reunification.
