EB5 Investment Amount Increase Goes Into Effect Soon

The EB5 investment amount increase is only 5 weeks away.

The EB5 Modernization Regulation will make the EB5 investment amount increase from $500,000 to $900,000 on November 21, 2019. Save $400,000 by investing before the new rule takes effect.

The new $900,000 EB5 investment amount is for projects located in targeted employment areas (TEA). TEA are either areas that are rural or areas that have an unemployment rate that is 150% the national rate. Regional centers are known for taking advantage of TEA lower investment amounts and offering projects at this attractive reduced rate.

Non-TEA projects will also increase from $1 million to $1.8 million. Non-TEA projects are more often associated with the Direct Investment Program, where investors invest in and manage their own EB5 projects.

Interested investors still have time to lock in the lower EB5 investment amounts and save hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What is the EB5 Program?

The EB5 Program gives green cards to qualified foreign nationals who make capital investments into U.S. job-creating new commercial enterprises.

After making the required capital investment, both Regional Center Program investors and Direct Investment Program investors must create 10 full time jobs for U.S. workers.

What are the major U.S. EB5 visa benefits?

  • Live anywhere in the U.S. regardless of where the investment is located.
  • Work anywhere in the U.S. and in any field without an employer sponsor.
  • Attend prestigious schools in the U.S. without needing a student visa.
  • Potentially qualify for reduced in-state tuition for schools.
  • Principal EB5 investors can obtain green cards for their spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 all under one application.
  • Easier international travel.
  • The ability to qualify for U.S. citizenship 5 years after receiving conditional permanent residency.
