How To Find The Right EB-5 Professionals

One of the most important questions a potential EB-5 investor will ask is how do you judge good EB-5 professionals?

Or more specifically, how do you judge a good immigration attorney. Knowing exactly what you need in an immigration attorney is a strong first step.

1. An immigration attorney must know the intricacies and complexities of the EB-5 Program.

2. They shouldn’t have any conflict of interest, such as working for EB-5 immigration agents, project developers, or regional centers, that they want you to work with or to invest in.

3. They should have your best interests in mind. Do they listen to you and make suggestions based on your preferences? Are they guiding you based on your stated risk-tolerance?

What should you be looking for in a regional center team?

1. You will want a team that created a strong project financial structure? In other words, who else, besides EB-5 investors are invested in this regional center project? What percentage of capital do EB-5 investors make up?

2. How well did the team set the project set up to manage risk? USCIS requires an EB-5 project to be at-risk, however, there are ways to minimize the risk.

3. What is project’s liquidation strategy at the end of the investment period? How will the team return your investment?

4. Does the team have a solid job-creation strategy as well as a job-creation buffer?

5. What is the team’s reputation? Do they have a history of successfully completing similar projects on time?
